As a quality control manager, one must first be proficient in relevant management models and tools, and masterthe control and improvement of the PDCA quality cycle. At the same time, one must possess certain management skills: Technical: Business technical capabilities, including professional knowledge, etc.; Management: Department operations, management, and improvement, etc.; Interpersonal: Ability to manage personnel, including communication, training, and handling matters, etc.; Ideological: Thinking, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
It is also important to realize that the most important aspect of implementing management activities is effectiveness. The same task performed by different people using the same method will yield different results. Therefore, judging and reviewing the effectiveness of the management process based on the final outcome is a common method for managers to conduct self-checks. Of course, one cannot blindly pursue results while neglecting the essence of departmental management; a balance must be struck.
Factors influencing managers: The manager's qualities, the manager's behavior, the effectiveness of management work, environmental characteristics, and the support of superiors and subordinates.
Managers should treat subordinates by: Giving them some face in their work, offering more ideas during learning, exercising good judgment when faced with problems, communicating directly without beating around the bush, and being approachable in handling matters.
In my opinion, a quality control manager should:
1. Be fair in handling matters. While it is easy to say to be fair, it is very difficult to do in practice.
2. Care about subordinates. Lack of care and understanding of employees' work and lives will naturally lead to employee dissatisfaction.
3. Have clear goals. Clear goals are the most important and fundamental prerequisite for leadership.
4. Issue commands accurately. As a frontline commander, the accuracy of issuing commands should be as precise as an air traffic controller giving commands to pilots; otherwise, ambiguity can easily arise, and errors will inevitably occur during the dissemination of commands, leading to work-related accidents.
5. Provide timely guidance. In their work, subordinates always hope to receive timely guidance from their superiors, as timely guidance is a sign of concern and training.
6. Share the honor. As a department manager, one should generously share the honor with everyone. The more model workers in your department, the better your work will be.
Most importantly, it is essential to enhance the confidence of department subordinates: confidence in testing conclusions, confidence in work attitude, and confidence in life.
